Alright, lovebirds – let’s talk about one of the most important (and stressful) parts of planning your big day: booking your wedding photographer and videographer.
We know, we know, there’s so much to think about when it comes to planning your wedding. The date, your venue, your bridal party, the list goes on and on. But once you have the major details figured out (budget, location, date, etc), booking your vendors should take top priority.
Now, we know what you’re thinking – “But my wedding isn’t for another year and a half! Do I really need to book my photographer and videographer that far out?”
The answer is an aggressive – YES.
Think about it this way – your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life. You want to make damn sure you’ve got a team that truly gets you, your love story, and your vision. And those photographers and videographers who consistently deliver the kind of magic you’re after? They book up QUICK.
So, when should you start your search? Well, as a general rule of thumb, we recommend reaching out to potential vendors at least 12 months before your wedding date. That gives you plenty of time to research and ultimately select the perfect match. And if you’ve got your heart set on a particular team? Don’t hesitate – reach out the moment you’ve got that date and venue locked down.
But once you find your dream team, you’re not in the clear just yet. You don’t technically have their services secured until you pay their deposit and sign their contract.
So if you know you’ve found the team of photographers & videographers you want for your wedding, act fast. In our opinion the earlier you can secure their services, the better.
At the end of the day, your wedding day is a once-in-a-lifetime event. It’s the day you’ve always dreamt of. It’s the day you and your partner commit to building a life together. You only get one chance to capture your day. You want to make sure you have a team that understands your vision for your wedding day, captures it perfectly, and will do your love story justice.
So, start your search early, book your dream team, and get ready to have the time of your life.
